Based on that of the Mutant Chronicles role-playing game, where nearly everything is powered by steam, mankind has exhausted Earth’s natural resources.
Four corporations have taken over the world in which they are constantly at war with one another, the Bauhaus, the Mishima, the Capitol and the Imperial. During a battle between two of the corporate forces, an ancient machine is unburied and mutants swarm the world. A team of unlikely heroes set off to destroy the machine and save mankind.
Mitch Hunter and Nathan Rooker, battle hardened Capitol soldiers, fight a desperate battle against a Bauhaus advance. When an errant shell destroys an ancient stone seal, they find themselves facing a new enemy: hideous necro-mutants, with bone blades that grow from their arms. Mitch barely manages to escape. Nathan does not.
