Six members of an expedition team including the chief Choi Dohyeong (Song Gangho) journey to the Antarctic where temperatures are of 80¡Æ below zero. The journey must be end before the sun sets, which means only 60 days remain. During the expedition, one member happens to find an old flag and an "Antarctic Journal," written about 80 years ago by an English expeditionary force. But after finding the journal, mysterious things begin to happen to the members.
While some member show symptoms of influenza, which isn't possible in the Antarctic because viruses don't exist, some are swept away by a sudden blizzard. To make matters worse, communication with the base camp is cut off and the food runs out. In spite of this series of strange events, Choi doesn't waver in his determination to conquer the Antarctic. The remaining members only wish to escape the Antarctic before darkness settles.
With its five-year production period and 8.5 billion won in production costs, "Antarctic Journal" created a stir as a blockbuster movie even during its the initial stage of production.
